Editing Post 1 Blog Post

During edited we used mainly jump-cuts to transition, everything was meant to flow in a rushed way which came out as desired for the project. Se also included a fade out and i was told by our editor that we also included a dissolve. There are no specific or exact effects we used much besides that was in the video and created for it. One major issue during editing was getting everything to flow smoothly with the audio, i was told that we needed to edit the audio various times and i myself heard in our trial era that it was not working as planned or desired. We solved this by sticking to the plan and continuing on though, persevering throughout the struggle and after many problems faced with the computer/file we successfully got it how we desired, with only a slight pixelated effect on the last scenes with actually help within setting the mood of our film, the only final scenario though is while everything was perfect, it was not. The film seems to be very unserious and more of a comedy ...

Creative Critical Reflection Post

How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?   The movie is themed as a mystery horror, the stereotypical black wearing killer was not seen in ours or that it was someone of a less fortunate backstory. We also kept stereotypes within our film by the killer being unmasked, but also combated this by the killer being shown and present in the first scene rather than later introduced. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?   It is meant to attract and hold medias focus with its mystery aspect part of it, every individual who i have spoken to about this film has mentioned that it is unsolved and that they are curious about it and don't understand, leeching for more information to be provided. The wow aspect for our film is generally meant to be the solving of this crime as everything unfolds, in what we filmed it does not included that wow factor as much as it d...

Finished Project Feelings Blog Post

I feel dissatisfied with my final opener, I feel if my team members actually pulled their weight and participated that we would of successfully made things correctly up to vision rather than speak about helping then pressure me last minute to complete the entirety of the project. Some issues were filming, it was actually a major issue. I was the only one willing to buy and CORRECTLY use props, I also was the Foley stage for the extra sounds, I also filmed all scenes but 1-2 which had to be modified to make the already easiest scenes easier, and I had to participate in parts of the project that were not my expertise and or my job to do as agreed. I feel like if I had partners who were as dedicated as me we would have had a project that was outstandingly perfect. I learned that if you want things done to do them yourself and to not wait on words, I'm also learned how to correctly modify props and make them fit my view and how to negotiate with actors onto what they would like to do a...

Lighting Blog Post

Lighting is a huge detrimental part within our film opener, we have carefully chosen every scene to the nitty gritty and we or at least I, have been so extremely strict in what I have been allowing and not allowing in our film. The meaning and feel it is supposed to give off its more of a boring or mysterious effect depending on the dedication of the viewer watching the film opener. In some scenes light will be plenty while others not nearly so much. The first scene is plentiful with light with the rooms light on keeping everything nice and illuminated, while in other scenes we will only be using the suns lighting and or adjusting room lighting to be dimmer, one or two scenes being almost absent of light within it. Lights will likely also be edited in post-production as well during editing, TO make them dimmer to add to the mysterious effect shown in the film.

Color Use Blog Post

The proper use of colour is very influential within our project. We will be focusing on more Mondaine gloomy bleak colours. We will be focusing the most on using greys and blacks and whites to symbolize more of a normative and also give a sense of uneasiness. the White shirt will be showing purity and trust worthiness, while our character is quite the opposite, one could say a wolf in sheep's clothing. Other colours that are exclusively seen within the film are reds to show darker meaning and give another sense of uneasiness, the pop tarts and fake blood being our most current prime examples. Colour in our films meant to be as gloom and boring as it appears, it is to give our character a deceitful feel and make the watcher edge their seat or simply fall asleep with our opener not being for every eye.

Sound Blog Post

I have filmed much to all of the sound for the project. Aswell as the scenes. We are going with a good blend of diegetic and non-diegetic sound and different scenes varying. We plan to have some scenes livelier than others. An eerie instrumental i will likely be used during certain scenes, while others may be kept as silent as they are. An idea that i do have to consult with my peers is to have the music go from lively and upbeat near the front to more of a gloomy dark and silent sound near the end. We will also be filming certain go over sounds for things that we don't believe are loud enough (Ex-Toaster popping up). much of the sound is not what I am choosing but  I will have an influential role within recording certain sounds and helping our editor work on said sounds and piecing things together.

Title Sequence Blog Post

We were rather easy when choosing the name of our opener, we chose a font that looked technical and mysterious as well. The original wording of the opener will be a dark gray to a near black and fade out with the last scene filmed. We have made our decision to use the name "Why?" using a monospace font and I have already yapped about the colour of the name. I Payton, chose the name of the film and actually was a major part in choosing its colour and once again font. With a vote of the font and name with the other members and debating with one about a reasonable name we finally came to the conclusion of my idea since it made the most sense. The name was also inspired and chosen with the help of my father, who gave me the idea and I talked to about with him.

Group Dynamics Blog Post

So far, we've been working very well together with just small teasing here and there and slight arguments here and there whilst working. I have been pulling my weight and actually i have been pulling Santana and Patrick Aswell, doing the majority of everything. I have so far filmed everything, done part of the storyboard, wrote all the words for the storyboard, made an outline for Santana for the storyboard, and started and done all of my blogposts. So far, my father has done more work than some individuals in this project and I personally find some of my most challenging parts have been working to do these blog posts and get the others to work. concluding that I have had a breeze getting everything together and I've been doing great. y wi The following content is partner provided

Challenges in Filming Blog Post

The challenges so far would have to retrieve the props, my father girlfriend so far throwing away a couple of my things and my father eating the pop tarts, as well as having to make my own fake blood to use on the knife. so far, I have been the one pulling all the weight within this project. Santana has helped just a little and Patrick has yet to pull his weight, Patrick is going to be editing and putting this all together though so i think by the end of this project it will be solely me and Patrick doing most of the work. In conclusion we are working on it slowly but surely with what we have, and I will be trying my best to finish filming asap and get this project turned in, no matter what challenge I must face.

Filming Blog Post

The first day of filming was lonely, chaotic, horrendous, but ended up a wonderful mess. To start our filming day, Santana filmed a bad shot completely going off of the storyboard, which set us back a little. Fixing this though, I refilmed the first two scenes with my father, having to sit Infront of a toaster for 3 minutes waiting for it to film. The rest of our schedule looks patchy but slowly working to be filmed and finished by the end of next week. The photos were taken during my filming session which include a bloody knife that i created with a food coloring mixture to be as realistic as possible. Currently there is only one thing that is needed to be reshot, which is Santana's poor excuse of a static shot.
