Representation Blog Post

Within our opener we focus much more on the story aspects then the representation given, our film is not meant to represent anything but the true crime murder of a man's family while he flees to not be seen again. This aside, we feel as if no changes are necessary or needed pertaining to the film or much to our main characters design for since it was a simple task we easily completed it. In my own general opinion, I believe that we are not creating a stereotypical film and rather one that is an original idea, the actual crime and movie if created would be a full original production so working with our limited resources, we tried the best we could to create something to embody this idea. Our character design and mindset are far from stereotypical to me Aswell, many thinking of deranged messy unkept men and woman with blood everything and drugs when they think murder or murderer, our character though being quite the opposite and being calm and collected and neat and tidy, keeping his...

Supporting Character analysis Blog Post

We only have a singular main character so in this blog I will describe the use of our props. Knife, the use of the knife is to initially hint at the murder, a knife with visible preferably dried blood upon its blade will be shown hiding within the garbage, the plate and wrapper promptly covering it. Plate and Poptart wrapper, I put these together because they essentially serve the same exact purpose, either draw away from the knife with blood shown in the disposal bin, and to add a reason to show the bin without suspicion of making it extensively obvious or overtaking. Poptart, cherry, a cherry Poptart is to symbolize the blood and the crime, cherry being tart and not seen in holiness and to be our first hint at the murder. Toothbrush, this again is to distract likely the bloody attire of which can be visibly viewed upon the main character, the blood not being overly gruesome or extreme but just little enough where it makes it indivisible unless there is minimal detail paid to the clot...

Main Character analysis Blog Post

Our main character is unamed, little is revealed about our character and who he is, this all though can be inferred by the details within the film. The physical characteristics are nothing far from the norm and his ultimate goal is to appear normal and simply just another man in society which he accurately appears to be. This is undefined within the plans of the film but the man is meaning to be cunning, intelligent, and persuasive whilst keeping a regular profile. He wears average attire for a working man of his age, a button up and a pair of pants, our opener showing what would be described as office clothes (khakis & White button up excluding the tie.) . No dialogue is presented but we (as in me and the other producers aka Patrick and Santana) plan to make him appear flowy, calm and center grounded and professional in his movements and mannerisms. It is easy to infer our main (only only) Mans mental state as the film progresses, it is altered and illogical, irrational and sharp....

Costuming Blog Post

Our choice in the costumes have different reasons, we have one singular character for our film opener, and it will be an unidentified man without a visible face, our chosen outfits being the exact same, only changing once during the second or third scene. His outfit would consist of khakis and a white preferably button up shirt. one appearing with just barely visible blood stain. The white for the shirt is meant to symbolize purity, purity that our main character fails to have. It is also meant to appear friendly, white stains very easily so it would be easiest to show the blood for our third scene. and when thinking hard it makes a man look more formal, and friendly and clean, exactly how our main character is trying to make himself appear. He does not have any specialized props but things he will be seen with in the opener is a newspaper, Poptart, toothbrush, suitcase, tv remote, and car keys.

Final Project Idea Blog Post

Our Final project is still under a debated name, but we are running under a horror mystery genre, It will begin with our man who throughout will not have a visible face, he will eat his breakfast chosen as a cherry pop-tart, the next will be the seen with the man throwing away the wrapper and the vision of a bloody knife. presented again the man in his bathroom will be a man getting ready, a pile of fresh clothes seen on the counter and then the bloody dirty clothes on the floor. Still in the house, he will turn off the tv with a bloody doll on the floor face down, representing his dead daughter upstairs, and then go to grab the newspaper outside, the scene abruptly cutting once his hand touches the newspaper about what we are debating a local murder or crime. The next scenes followed outdoors are the man shoving a suitcase into his truck and him getting in and driving off, escaping and ending the opener scene.  What my feelings are about this are very mixed, I am not very enthusia...

Movie Opener Brainstorming & Research

Rise-Opening Film  The entirety of the film is handheld and has a rather Shakey hold throughout its entirety. The film has no commentary or words spoken by the characters given. throughout the film the song Runnin'- David Dallas is playing but it is unclear whether it is diegetic and heard through the presented actor's headphones shown to be put on in the film or non-diegetic and simply background music played over the 'montage' of the character playing soccer. Dare to Thrill Film Opening Daniel Garzon This opener starts with a group of friends conversing and then slowly the background music not heard by the characters slides in. The filming is smooth, could have been done by a really still handheld. The film ends with the friend group opening the trunk and seeming disgusted and surprised by something before fleeing, leaving a cliffhanger and us to only infer what was presented when they opened the trunk. Dear Lover The opening shows a variety of nature and credits, a ...

Preparing to Film Blog Post

The preparation  of filming we faced/ face numerous challenges that we worked by to solve. The first one we faced is where we were going to film and the different locations, as well  as how  they will be set up. Another challenged  faced was the name of our opener , that we debated and changed a plethora of times before settling on a name that we agreed on in harmony. The easiest portions of our decision making had to of been the roles for everybody within the project, easily knowing who exactly is doing what. Actors: Currently we are actively trying to recruit my father; Brett Singer, for the main actor due to his appearance. (besides his face) Another actor that we will likely include is Patrick for the TV scene of filming, only his hand exclusively shown in that scene. Costumes: The costumes for this film are extremely minimal and will be specially bought for the occasion, mostly due to the destruction of one of the two outfits for our main actor, the second likel...

Initial Film Opener Storyboard

The storyboard was worked on my Santana, Patrick, and me Payton. Patrick contributed to the idea aspect of the storyboard while Santana Drew the majority of the panels conveying the scenes. I detailed and wrote everything for the storyboard as well as drew two of the panels as requested by Santana. We first thought about our original idea, what we based it off of, and then worked towards how we were going to capture everything. It opens with a Poptart, debated and concluded as Cherry. It then translates to the plate and wrapper being thrown away, and so on of our unveiled man seen throughout the opener working through his routine as it gets progressively creepier. The idea of this being based off of a true crime case, of a man who murdered his family and escaped giving the illusion to everybody that the whole family was on vacation instead of what actually happened.
